Who we are
We are a large group of extremely concerned members of the Newington College community who are outraged by the flawed process, lack of transparancy and crooked reasoning that lead to the College Council’s decision to transition the school from a 160 year old boys school, to a fully co-educational institution.
The Save Newington College Group is not against co-ed schooling but we believe in choice, consent and proper and transparent process. The College Council has effectively ignored these ideals, ideals that are central for any Independent school to operate with a social license. Instead, the College Council rushed through a decision that blindsided the entire community. Why?:
Lack of consultation
a refusal to disclose expensive research
no business case made
no evidence kids learn better in a co-ed environment
no evidence that a “co-ed Newington” will be better than what Newington is today
removing current and future parental choice without consent

Parents and Aluumni please register with us if you believe in holding the College Council to account, thus preserving Newington's heritage and ensuring its continued excellence for future generations.
We understand that past and present associations, mums/dads, ex-teachers, MOONS, other supportive parties, etc. are keen to support any campaign, so we ask that these people lodge their opinions directly with the College Council via email at ourfuture@newington.nsw.edu.au . Don’t hold back!
